Biography

As a Redshirt-Senior (2020-21)
Went 2-4 in singles and 3-4 in doubles...  Had a singles win over North Florida at No. 4 in the ASUN Tournament...  Partnered with Juan Montes for two wins over North Florida and Lipscomb in the ASUN Tournament.

As a Senior (2019-20)
Claimed the top spot in the Eagles’ single play lineup … Also played on the top court in doubles play, alongside teammate Feliksas Sakalauskas … Posted a 5-2 mark in singles play, earning all of his victories with straight-set matches … Was one of just two players able to take his opponent into three sets during the match against a Miami team that was receiving national attention (Feb. 15) … Earned a 3-3 mark on the top court in doubles play … He and Sakalauskas advanced to the semi-final round of the ITA Regionals (Oct. 28).

As a Junior (2018-19)
2019 Second Team All-Conference
Earned postseason honors for the third year in a row, landing a spot on the second team … Went 8-5 in fall tournament play, including a 4-2 mark in doubles play … Competed at primarily the second spot in the singles dual lineup … Finished with a 10-9 record, including a decisive 10-5 advantage on the second court … Earned a 4-1 record in conference singles play, only dropping a match at Lipscomb (April 6) … Competed at primarily the third spot in the doubles lineup with Feliksas Sakalauskas … The duo finished with a 10-4 mark together, including a 5-1 record in conference doubles play … Went on a seven-match winning streak that began with the doubles match at NJIT (March 22) and ended with the ASUN championship match against UNF (April 21) ... He and Sakalauskas’ match against No. 4 Florida in the first round of the NCAA Tournament was knotted up at 4-4 when the Gators claimed the doubles point.

ASUN Player of the Week (Jan. 24)

Claimed postseason honors for the second time in his career, landing on the Second Team … Posted 25 wins across doubles and singles, featuring at both No. 1 and No. 2 singles as well as all three doubles positions … Won seven of his first 10 singles matches, including two at the FGCU Fall Invite (Sept. 22-24) and three at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships … Won four-straight matches at the beginning of the spring season, starting with a three-set win over Robert Herrera of ETSU (Jan. 21) … Earned ASUN Player of the Week honors (Jan. 24) for going 2-2 against #20 Florida State and ETSU ... Appeared alongside Javier Fernandez, Oliver Landert, Nicolas Tibaudin, Austin Bates, and Ezequiel Cerrini throughout the season in doubles … Went 3-2 while teaming with Bates at No. 3 and posted a 3-0 mark with Cerrini including two wins late in the spring season.

Made an instant impact after becoming eligible Jan. 30 … Rose from No. 4 in the lineup to the top spot in both doubles and singles, earning ASUN Freshman of the Year honors, a spot on the ASUN’s First Team, and All-Freshman Team accolades, recording an 11-6 record in singles and a 9-8 record in doubles … Clinched FGCU’s second NCAA Tournament appearance to earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team … Won his first four completed matches (two were unfinished), including wins over Bethune-Cookman (Feb. 3), Charlotte’s Leonardo Menezes (Feb. 17), Miami’s Max Andrews (Feb. 25), and Xavier’s Jeremy Schneider (March 9) …   Started playing No. 1 singles March 10 in FGCU’s match against ETSU … Nearly upset #82 Tuki Jacobs (March 14) in FGCU’s match against #29 South Alabama, but the match was clinched with Ramirez leading 3-1 in the third set … Won his first No. 1 singles match against Felix Ewers of USC Upstate (March 29) to start a five-match winning streak that included two Top 120 wins … Defeated Lipscomb’s #118 Rob Mitchell (April 8) and followed with a win over #34 Memphis’ top singles player, #79 Ryan Peniston … Later defeated Mitchell in the ASUN Final to clinch FGCU’s second NCAA Tournament berth in three seasons … Won his first three doubles matches alongside both Ezequiel Cerrini and Oliver Landert … Teamed with Landert to produce wins over the top pairings from Xavier (March 9), ETSU (March 10), and #29 South Alabama (March 14) … Paired with Landert for wins over #48 UCF (March 19) and Stetson (March 23).

High School
Won the Under-12, -14 and -16 Colombian National Championship before moving to the United States with hopes of playing collegiate tennis ... After representing Colombia in the South America Under-12 Tournament, Ramirez won six matches at the Orange Bowl Under-14 and went on to win the American Tennis Cup at the Under-18 level.
