Did not have any competitive running experience before competing for the University of Arizona his freshman year in 2012 … transferred to FGCU his sophomore year and had several impressive performances throughout his career … his first year as an Eagle, he won his first race at the Westminster Academy Collegiate Invite (5k) with a career best time of 15:42.36 … placed 80th overall at the 2013 NCAA South Regional Championship (10k) with a career best 31:53.68 … as a junior, he won his second race at the Stetson Hatter Invitational (8k) with a time of 26:32.33 … he led FGCU at the FSU invitational with a strong 7th-place finish, crossing the finish line in 25:41.62 and earning his first A-Sun Runner of the Week honor … his senior year, Kandie ran a personal-best time of 25:35.72 for a 7th-place finish at the UF Mountain Dew Invitational (8k), which earned him 10th-best time in program history … clocked in at 25:34.48 and finished in 11th place at the 2015 A-Sun Conference Championships (8k) … this performance named him Atlantic Sun-All Conference Second Team with the ninth-best time in FGCU’s program history … Kandie completed his career with a 87th-place finish at the NCAA South Regional Championship after clocking a time of 33:04.59.
As A Senior (2015)
Competed in five of six meets and paced FGCU in two races while turning in the team’s second-, third- and fifth-fastest times this season … named Atlantic Sun All-Conference Second Team … turned in three sub-56:00.00 times on the season and two times on the program’s all-time record list … placed a season-best 5th at the UNF Invitational with a time of 25:59.20 (Sept. 5) … ran a then-personal-best time of 25:34.72 and finished 7th at the UF Mountain Dew Invitational (Sept. 19) … his performance was good for the third-best this season and 10th-best in program history … finished 26th with a time of 27:14.23 at the Upstate Invitational (Oct. 3) … earned all-conference honors after clocking a personal-best time of 25:34.58 and finishing 11th at the A-Sun Championships (Oct. 30) … his time was good for the second-fastest on the team this season and the ninth-best in program history … capped off the season by finishing 87th at the NCAA South Regional Championships in a time of 33:04.59 (Nov. 13).
As A Junior (2014)
Competed in five races this season … placed 1st at the Stetson Hatter Invitational with a time of 26:32.33 (Aug. 30) … finished with a time of 25:27.92 at the UF Mountain Dew Invitational which was good for 30th (Sept. 20) … finished 161st at the Greater Louisville Classic with a time of 26:11.72 (Oct. 4) … placed 7th at the FSU Seminole Invitational with a time of 25:41.62 (Oct. 10) … finished 29th at the Atlantic Sun Championship with a time of 26:50.31 (Nov. 1).
As A Sophomore (2013)
Competed in six of seven races during his first year at FGCU ... won one meet and finished in the top-three on the team in every race … placed first at the Westminster Academy Collegiate Invite 5k (Aug. 31) with a career-best 15:42.36 … placed 52nd overall and third on the team at the UF Mountain Dew Invitational 8k (Sept. 14) with a 26:15.15 … placed 115th and second on the team at the Roy Griak Invitational (Spet. 28) 8k with a time of 26:00.30 … placed 3rd overall and second on the team at the UCF Black & Gold Invitational (Oct. 18) 8k with a 25:59.92 … placed 15th overall and third on the team at Atlantic Sun Championships (Nov. 2) with a career-best 25:57.14 … placed 80th overall at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships 10k (Nov. 15) with a career-best 31:53.68.

During the indoor season, he ran the mile in 4:18.11 at the Husky Classic ... took 23rd at the MPSF Championships, clocking a time of 4:18.43 ... outdoors, he finished in ninth place at the Willie Williams Classic in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:00.99 ... he ran the 1,500-meter run at the Jim Click Shootout, clocking a personal-best time of 4:00.15, good for a 13th-place finish.
