FORT MYERS, Fla. - The FGCU swimming and diving team got its first competitive action of the 2026-27 season with the Wings Up Classic and the annual Green vs. Blue intrasquad meet this weekend. Izzy Ackley led the way with four event wins and a meet record, and Jasmin Kroll added four wins and a meet record of her own.
 
Ackley took the overall title at the Wings Up Classic. She won both the 50 fly and the 50 back. Kroll also won twice, taking first in the 50 free and the 100 IM, and Kata Joo won the 50 breast.
 
The Blue team won the Green vs. Blue meet, and two Eagles set new meet records along the way. Ackley won the 150 back in a meet-record time of 1:26.86 and later added a win in the 50 back. Kroll set a meet record with a 1:20.09 in the 150 free, and she also won the 50 free.
 
Charlotte Driesse, Aislyn Barnett and Emily McMahan each won two events. Driesse won the 300 free and the 150 fly, Barnett took the 150 breast and the 300 IM, and McMahan won the 50 kick with fins and the 50 fly. Leah Gentry-Tuney won the 50 breast, and the Green team won the 200 medley relay to close the swimming portion of the meet.
 
In the main event of the Green vs. Blue meet, the two teams squared off in the belly flop contest. After great performances entering the pool by both teams, Lana Webb secured the victory for the Blue Team with a stellar belly flop.
 
Blue won the day, but the two squads will keep competing all season for the team's Challenge Cup. Green leads the season-long competition 5,638-5,320.
 
FGCU now begins preparing for the FIU Classic on Oct. 2-3 in Miami, Florida.
