TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- The Florida Gulf Coast Eagles will run their first 6k of the year on Friday, taking part in the FSU Pre-Regional in Tallahassee.
The Eagles opened the season two weeks ago at the Florida Intercollegiate Invitational in Jacksonville with a fifth-place finish among the 19 teams competing.
Alise Petrova led the Eagle runners with a time of 18.16.78, good for 14th place while
Addison Torres was just behind her with an 18:19.76 that put her 17th.
Petrova, Torres, and
Tess Shultz all blazed career bests in the 6k at last year's NCAA South Region Championships. Petrova's 21:18.0 ranked seventh in FGCU history while Shultz's 21:27.2 was good for 10
th and Torres' 21:45.6 was 12
th best.
Friday's meet at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee will begin at 8:20 a.m. shortly following the men's 8k.
