FORT MYERS, Fla. – Ozia Trujillo is planning on running it back, and now we know when. FGCU cross country announced its 2026 schedule on Tuesday afternoon with four challenging competitions leading up to the 2026 Atlantic Sun Conference Championships.
Trujillo, who set a new championship record last year with a time of 16:20.2, will lead FGCU's squad when the team begins the season in Jacksonville on Sept. 4 with the Florida Intercollegiate Invitational. The Eagles return to the northern part of the state with a trip to Tallahassee on Sept. 18 when FGCU competes at the Florida State XC Invitational.
The Green & Blue will head north to the Hoosier State on Oct. 2 for a national championship preview with the Nike XC Town Twilight hosted by Indiana State in Terre Haute, Indiana. The Sycamores will host the 2026 NCAA Championships on Nov. 21 on the same course as the Nike XC Town Twilight.
FGCU's regular season will wrap up on Oct. 16 with a trip to Lakeland for the Ed Holloway Classic.
Following that is when Trujillo's bid for a repeat title begins in earnest, as the ASUN Championships will be held on Oct. 30. Another trip to Tallahassee is scheduled for Nov. 13 as the Seminoles will host the NCAA South Region Championships.
