FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Florida Gulf Coast women's swim and dive team returns to action on Saturday, hosting Siena and Stonehill in the Eagle Winter Invitational at the FGCU Aquatics Complex. The meet is set to begin at 2 p.m.
FGCU closed out the 2025 calendar year with a competitive dual meet against Delaware on Thursday, Dec. 31, falling by a narrow 135–127 margin. The Eagles opened the meet on a strong note as
Izzy Ackley,
Cassie Bauer,
Libby Russum, and
Mia Burke captured first place in the 200 medley relay to set the tone for the afternoon.
Ackley led the Eagles with multiple individual victories, winning both the 150 back and 50 back. Russum added wins in the 50 free and contributed additional podium finishes, while Bauer claimed first in the 50 breast and placed second in the 100 IM and 150 breast.
Aislyn Barnett delivered strong runner-up finishes in the 300 free and 150 breast, and the Eagles also found success on the boards as
Alexandra Andueza secured first place in the 1-meter dive.
Saturday's invitational will follow a traditional meet format, featuring the 100 medley relay, 500 freestyle, 100s and 200s of each stroke, the 500 crescendo relay, the 100 IM, and concluding with the 100 freestyle relay. FGCU last competed against Siena during the 2024–25 season and earned a decisive 303–82 victory, winning 14 events, including multiple freestyle, butterfly, backstroke, and diving events.
Following the invitational, the Eagles will travel to Miami to face FIU at 11 a.m. on Jan. 24 at the Doral Aquatic Center.
