FORT MYERS, Fla. — Florida Gulf Coast University volleyball will compete in the Coyote Invitational Thursday through Saturday in Vermillion, South Dakota. The University of South Dakota is hosting the tournament, which includes No. 17 Kansas and Green Bay.
FGCU (3–2) will face Kansas (3–4) on Thursday, Sept. 11, at 5 p.m. Eastern time. On Friday, Sept. 12, FGCU will take on host South Dakota (4–2) at 8 p.m. ET. The Eagles will close out the tournament on Saturday, Sept. 13, at 11 a.m. ET against Green Bay.
This marks the first time FGCU will face Kansas, South Dakota or Green Bay.
FGCU is coming off a 3–1 win over Loyola Marymount on Saturday.
Julija Grubisic Cabo and
Barbara Koehler each had 11 kills, setter
Hanna Borer added 20 assists and 16 digs, and
Erica Muhizi contributed seven block assists and four kills.
Kansas dropped a 3–2 decision to Purdue last Friday; Green Bay fell 3–1 to UC Davis.
Erica Muhizi was named Atlantic Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week after averaging 1.38 blocks per set last weekend.
Grubisic Cabo and Borer were selected to the Nore-Stahl Classic All-Tournament Team for their efforts against Arizona State and Loyola Marymount.
