FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University baseball welcomes Florida International University on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. for more midweek action at Swanson Stadium.

FGCU Athletics is offering $3 student beer (ages 21+) and $3 hot dogs at the OSC concessions this Tuesday. Eagle fans are encouraged to listen up and play along to the midweek music bingo challenge. Pick up a bingo card at the marketing table, and the winner will go home with a prize.

For tickets, visit the FGCU Ticket Office online by clicking the available link or on game day at the mobile ticket office at the gate of Swanson Stadium. Tickets for FGCU baseball start at $10.

The Eagles were originally scheduled to host the Panthers last Tuesday, but Mother Nature forced the postponed decision to move that game to April 22. The Eagles and Panthers have squared off once this season, now over a month ago back on March 11. FGCU traveled to FIU to register an 8-4 victory.

In the game, the Eagles led 7-1 through seven complete frames. Mac Moise and Harrison Povey produced multiple hits and seven different Eagles recorded a hit in the road win.

The Green and Blue is 16-10 all-time when facing FIU, winning seven out of the last 10, but the Panthers have won three out of the last five. The series dates back to 2008 and Tuesday will mark the 27th all-time meeting between the two Sunshine State programs separated by Alligator Alley. FIU comes to town 22-13 overall and a 6-5 ledger in the C-USA after taking two out of three from New Mexico State this past weekend. However, the Panthers are 4-5 on the road.

FGCU secured its second ASUN series victory on Sunday with a 6-3 win over Queens in the series finale. The Eagles started ASUN play 2-7 but have since then gone 4-2 with back-to-back series wins over Jacksonville and Queens to improve to 6-9 overall, keeping pace in he Graphite Division race. The Eagles are just three games back of second-place Jacksonville, who sits at 9-6 in the league.

Povey is fourth in the ASUN in home runs (9), and two-way player Evan Dempsey is second in the conference in drawing hit by pitches (15), ranking No. 31 nationally in the category. Povey hit his 50th career home run in game two at Queens. Robert Moya, who was nominated for ASUN Player of the Week, leads the team in batting average at .321.

The FGCU pithing staff flexed its muscle at Queens with Chris Diaz and Dempsey. Friday night starter Diaz recorded 10 strikeouts, and Dempsey fanned eighth in his new starting role on Saturday.
