Women's golf shifts focus to Spring Break Invitational

FORT MYERS, Fla. The Florida Gulf Coast University women's golf team is gearing up for another exciting tournament this spring as they head to Dade City, Florida, for the Spring Break Invitational hosted by Western Kentucky University on March 17-18.

With a strong showing at their previous events and a #68 national ranking, the Eagles are looking to build upon their fall momentum and make a significant impact this spring in another competitive 13-team field. FGCU won three of four tournaments in the fall and was ranked as high as No. 32 in the country. This spring, FGCU has finished sixth and fifth at two separate events.

The Spring Break Invitational will be held at a challenging course in Dade City, which is known for its strategic layout and fast greens. One of the key Eagles to watch is Lousiane Gauthier, whose standout performances have contributed significantly to FGCU's high ranking thus far.

The sophomore has quickly established herself as a force to be reckoned with on the national stage and has proven herself as one of the top players in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Gauthier has won three events this season, including one in the spring, while holding a team-best 71.9 scoring average.
