FGCU Hosts Delaware in ASUN Showdown on New Year's Eve

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Florida Gulf Coast women's swim and dive team is back in action on New Year's Eve as they host Delaware in a highly anticipated dual meet featuring two of the ASUN's top programs.

This will be the first meet of the season to bring together two of the top teams in the conference, with several of the ASUN's top swimmers and divers set to compete. The matchup provides an early measuring stick as the Eagles continue to prepare for the ASUN Championships.

With FGCU still in the middle of heavy training, the meet also gives the Eagles a chance to race in off events. Competing outside of their primary events is an important part of championship preparation, allowing swimmers to experience race situations while training volume remains high.

While results still matter, the meet serves as a developmental opportunity for FGCU. The Eagles will look to test their depth, gain race experience, and clean up details as the season moves forward.

As the season continues, the dual against Delaware offers a strong benchmark for FGCU and another step in the team's build toward the ASUN Championships.

Following the New Year's Eve meet, the Eagles will host the Eagle Winter Invitational at 2:00 p.m. on Jan. 10 at the FGCU Aquatics Complex.
