FORT MYERS, Fla. – With basketball season tipping off next week, Florida Gulf Coast University Athletics has announced a series of major enhancements to Alico Arena designed to elevate the game-day experience for fans, student-athletes, and the entire FGCU community.
Among the most noticeable upgrades are new integrated light-show effects, spotlights, and fog machines that will bring a new level of energy and spectacle to introductions and in-game presentations, creating a dynamic light show experience unlike anything fans have seen before at The Nest.
"We're committed to constantly improving the fan experience at Alico Arena," said FGCU Director of Athletics
Colin Hargis. "These upgrades reflect our dedication to making every game special, from the moment fans step through the doors to the final buzzer."
The arena's main court has also been completely transformed, providing a refreshed, state-of-the-art playing surface for the Eagles as they prepare for another exciting season.
Fans will also notice signage and aesthetic updates throughout Alico Arena. Those upgrades include improvements in the lobby, suite areas, and the Hillmyer-Tremont Suite, all reinforcing the modern, vibrant look of the arena.

In addition, concession areas have been enhanced with improved service options and the introduction of local Riptide Brewery selections, offering fans more variety and a stronger connection to the Southwest Florida community.

Fans will have their first chance to experience the upgrades when FGCU Women's Basketball hosts Lynn University in a free exhibition game Saturday, followed by the Men's Basketball regular season home opener against New College of Florida on Monday, November 3.
