FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Florida Gulf Coast University Eagles volleyball team hits the road for two Atlantic Sun Conference battles this weekend.
The Eagles will first travel to face Queens University (15-8, 6-4 ASUN) on Friday for a 6 p.m. EST start before visiting University of West Georgia (2-21, 0-10 ASUN) on Sunday for a 12 p.m. match.
The Eagles (13-8, 7-3 ASN) dominates the series versus Queens (N.C.) 7-0 and delivered a 3-1 victory over the Royals on Oct. 5 in Alico Arena.
Against West Georgia, the Green & Blue is undefeated in three meetings; FGCU won 3-0 in its last home meeting on Oct. 3.
Queens is coming off a 3-1 victory at Austin Peay on Sunday, while the Wolves fell 3-0 versus Lipscomb the same day. FGCU dropped its match 3-1 to Jacksonville also on Sunday.
The Eagles earned a weekly conference honor: freshman middle blocker
Erica Muhizi closed out the week with 19 total blocks over three matches and chipped in eight kills. Against Florida International University on Tuesday, she posted four blocks and five kills. In Friday's match versus University of North Florida she notched two aces, added five blocks and recorded three kills. On Sunday against Jacksonville, she registered nine blocks.
