FORT MYERS, Fla. – Ashley Labbe won the Atlantic Sun Conference's Player of the Week Award Tuesday, as announced by the league office.
"Proud of Ashley and the impact she had this weekend," head coach Jim Blankenship said.
Tuesday's honors marks her second-career ASUN Player of the Week nod for the now graduate student. She earned her first Player of the Week in year number two with the Eagles, back in October of 2021.
Labbe scored twice and had one assist Sunday in FGCU's 4-1 win at DePaul. Labbe, the 2024 ASUN Preseason Player of the Year, needed only 23 seconds in the second half to score her first goal of the day and the eventual game-winner. She let one fly from 35 yards out, chipping it up and over the keeper toward the far upper 90 of the goal.
Labbe later fed teammate Katharina Oelschlaeger for her one-on-one opportunity in the 60th minute, leading to the assist.
In the 66th minute, the Lake Worth, Florida, native fired a laser to notch her third multi-goal game of her career, finally making it 4-1 Eagles. Labbe came inches away from pulling off a hat trick Sunday. In the first half, one of her team-leading four shots was deflected off the left post.
Labbe leads all Eagles in goals scored this season with three, tallying seven total points. She also paces the Eagles in total shots (eight) and total shots on goal (five).
