Eagles welcome USF Thursday and No. 24 Dayton Friday for Homewood Suites Tournament

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Florida Gulf Coast University volleyball returns home to host the FGCU Homewood Suites Fort Myers Tournament Thursday through Saturday. Thursday's match will be a "Blueout" and Friday will be "Taylor Swift Night."

In conjunction with Friday night's match, there will be free Azul Eras Tote Bags for the first 250 fans and the first 250 students. Friday night will also feature "TSwift Music Bingo" and the first five winners will win a Taylor Swift album. It will also serve as Youth Night with tickets for children 12 and under going for just $5 with purchasing adult.

FGCU (7-2) first takes on Florida rival, USF (4-4) Thursday at 6 p.m. before battling No. 24 and 2023 NCAA Second Round team Dayton (7-1) at 7 p.m. the following day. This is the first time in FGCU head coach Matt Botsford's tenure that a top 25 program will be visiting Alico Arena.

The Bulls and the Flyers will battle on Friday morning at 11 a.m. and then again Saturday at 1 p.m. There will be live stats available for all matches and fans can catch all the Green & Blue matches live on ESPN+.

This will be FGCU's 13th matchup against USF and the Eagles lead the series 9-3 with their most recent win being a 3-1 victory in Tampa Sep. 1, 2023. This will be the first time FGCU takes on Dayton.

The Green & Blue is coming off a 3-0 sweep over Little Rock and a 3-2 victory versus Drake. FGCU battled through a close 3-2 defeat against Ole Miss on Saturday.

Ella Chapman was named this week's Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week after totaling  21 kills off 33 swings (.606) while registering four solo blocks and six block assists last weekend for the Eagles.The middle blocker was named to the Ole Miss Invitational All-Tournament Team.

The Bulls fell 3-1 to NC State on Saturday, while Dayton is coming off a 3-1 loss against Marquette.
