Zschuppe named to Hermann Trophy Watch List

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Atlantic Sun Conference Preseason Midfielder of the Year Erika Zschuppe was named to the 2024 Hermann Trophy Watch List.

"It's really an honor for Erika to be recognized with this elite group of players from across the entire country," head coach Jim Blankenship said. "Really proud of the level she competes at and looking forward to her having a great year."

The Hermann Trophy is the nation's highest individual honor in Division I women's soccer that recognizes the National Player of the Year, as voted on by members of the United Soccer Coaches.

Zschuppe is one of just 44 players to appear on the list. The list was comprised of returning All-Americans and First Team Region Players in 2023.

Fifteen semifinalists will be announced Dec. 4. Coaches will then vote the list down to three finalists. The award-winner will be announced Jan. 3 at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis.

Zschuppe pulled off the infamous hat trick in the 2023 ASUN Championship match to spark the Eagles' come-from-behind victory over North Alabama. The Ohio native scored all three goals in 14 minutes. Zschuppe tallied a team-leading 10 goals and eight assists a season ago, worth 28 points. In just two years with the Green and Blue, she has scored 13 goals and has been credited with 13 assists.

On top of being named the 2023 ASUN Tournament MVP last year, Zschuppe earned ASUN First Team honors and United Soccer Coaches All-South Region First Team recognition. Zschuppe enters the 2024 season ranked No. 61 overall in TopDrawerSoccer's Preseason Top 100 Players List.
