Elise George named Eagle of the Quarter

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Elise George, a graduate assistant in athletics marketing and promotions, has been named the Eagle of the Quarter for her exemplary work in improving the fan experience at Florida Gulf Coast University athletic events.

"I knew FGCU got something special when we got Elise," said Shane Pellegrine, assistant director of athletics marketing and promotions. "Even though she's a grad assistant, no one sees her that way. She takes every assignment, puts her own spin on it and makes it her own. I'm thankful that other people get to see what I see every day. I couldn't be more proud of her, and no one is more deserving."

A native of Plainwell, Michigan, George graduated from the University of Kentucky in May 2022 with a business marketing and management degree. She has been working as a marketing assistant with FGCU since July 2022 while pursuing her master's of business administration from FGCU.

The latest Eagle of the Quarter was nominated by Trish Lorino, assistant vice president for University Marketing & Communications, and Madison Lord, director of athletics special events and engagement.

"Elise is a stellar employee, consistently radiating positivity and demonstrating an unwavering commitment to excellence by consistently going above and beyond," said Lorino.

"[Elise] just brings a light and energy to everything she does here," Lord said.

The Eagle of the Quarter recognition was started in January 2021 as a way to honor FGCU Athletics staff members who go above and beyond in serving student-athletes while contributing to the department's success.
