SALT LAKE CITY, Utah. – Atlantic Sun Conference Championship winners for the fourth consecutive season in a row, Florida Gulf Coast University will begin the 2024 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship as the Eagles take on the No. 5 seeded Marquette University Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
The First Round match is hosted by No. 4 seeded Utah University in the Jon M. Huntsman Center.
The Eagles (27-4) will face off with Marquette (23-8) for the second time in program history. The Golden Eagles won 3-0 back in September of 2013 in Alico Arena.
This year marks MU's 13th NCAA appearance in the last 14 seasons. The Golden Eagles last played November 30 against Creighton in the Big East Championship match, falling 3-0.
The Green & Blue defeated Lipscomb on November 24 to automatically advance to the NCAA Tournament.
The Eagles have previously played in the tournament in 2018, 2021, 2022 and 2023. Twice, the Eagles have advanced to the second round, with the first time coming in 2018 when the Eagles defeated No. 13 and site host UCF. In 2021, the Green & Blue soared over Texas Tech and advanced to battle host Wisconsin.
Thursday's winner will play Friday against the winner of Thursday's later match between host Utah and College of Charleston.
