FORT MYERS, Fla. – Freshman Nele Karowski collected national recognition from TopDrawerSoccer's last week, earning a spot on the Team of the Week list.
Karowski recorded her first goal of her collegiate career against Queens and added two assists in the 8-0 victory. The freshman played a season-high 55 minutes against the Royals.
Karwoski added another assist, her third of the season, in Sunday's rain-soaked 5-0 victory against West Georgia en route to the honor. She is tied for fourth on the team in total assists. Karwoski helped FGCU score the most goals in back-to-back games in program history, 13.
The eight-goal affair against Queens was the most goals that FGCU has scored in a single match in six years, back when the Eagles put eight on Webber International in 2018. The contest witnessed the most Eagles' goals scored against a Division I opponent since 2015.
Karwoski and sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Molina are the only two Eagles this season to appear on TopDrawerSoccer's Team of the Week list this season.
