FORT MYERS, Fla. – Director of Special Events & Engagement
Madison Lord and Assistant Director of Graphic Design and Digital Media
Donya Salman have been named the FGCU Athletics Eagles of the Quarter, as announced by Director of Athletics Ken Kavanagh.
The Eagles of the Quarter program commenced in Spring 2021 as a way to honor FGCU Athletics staff members who go above and beyond to generate high-level Green & Blue accomplishments. "We have many wonderful teammates, and it is a great joy to spotlight those who make the success of our student-athletes possible, especially those who are quite often behind the scenes doing so," Kavanagh said.
Lord is in her first year at FGCU, and she coordinates and oversees the planning, organization, and daily operations of special events and donor engagement opportunities on behalf of FGCU Athletics. She also oversees the development and implementation of events, auctions, and other engagement activities, including the signature philanthropic Night at the Nest gala/auction, Athletics Scholarship Dinner, Academic Honors Luncheon, Hall of Fame events, FGCU Eagles Golf Classic, basketball game hospitality, and assists in Eagles Club benefit delivery.
"Madison has quickly become a key member of our Advancement team," Kavanagh said. "In particular, she did a tremendous job contributing to our critical Night at the Nest fundraiser that was rescheduled due to Hurricane Ian, which overlapped with her responsibilities for our annual Hillmyer-Tremont Academics Honors Luncheon, and the stretch run with our home basketball events."
Salman is in her second year with FGCU Athletics, after joining the Eagles in October 2021. She creates and oversees all the graphic design elements and digital media produced by FGCU Athletics – including schedule posters, billboards, in-game signage, social media graphics and court designs. Salman also oversees all FGCU Athletics-related social media accounts and works with all 15 FGCU teams on their visual content, as well as coordinates with both Athletics Communication and Marketing & Fan Engagement departments to ensure streamlined visual identity.
"Donya is a valued teammate whose positive daily personality is much appreciated," Kavanagh said. "In turn, her creativity and talents displayed with our graphics and digital media contributes significantly to generating well-received publicity for our student-athletes, coaches, and activities."
