FORT MYERS, Fla. – Brylee Bartram broke the single-game school record for made 3-pointers in a game in Wednesday's 108-31 victory over Ave Maria at Alico Arena.
"I thought it was a good effort," said FGCU head coach Karl Smesko. "I thought Juice had a great first half of the game and made a lot of defensive plays. Brylee shot the ball exceptionally well. Everybody came in, they played together and they played hard. Really pleased with the performance."
Bartram single-handedly defeated the Gyrenes with a career-high 35 points. The redshirt senior caught fire from downtown, knocking down 10 of her 16 attempts from behind-the-arc. She tied her previous career high of 23 points at the half.
"It wasn't something I was really thinking about when I was out there," Bartram said. "It's cool. It's a cool thing to have. Yeah, just thankful."
The 77-point win marked the largest margin of victory in the series against Ave Maria. FGCU was one point shy of tying the program record for the most points scored in a single game. As a team, FGCU drained a season-high 18 3-pointers to further extend its home winning streak to 17 games.
FGCU led Ave Maria 30-9 at the end of one and marched out to a 39-point advantage at the break, 55-19. Fifty-five points by halftime marked a season-high.
The Eagles surpassed the century mark with 2:06 remaining in the fourth courtesy of an Ajulu Thatha made three.
Uju Ezeudu turned in 23 points in just 17 minutes, and Thatha produced a season-high 15, putting her two points away from her 1,000th career point. Jordan Campbell added a career-high 11-point performance.
The Eagles hit the road Sunday, Dec. 3 to face Old Dominion. Tip off is scheduled for 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
