FORT MYERS, Fla. - The FGCU Department of Athletics has announced today that for the upcoming 2020-21 basketball seasons, new safety measures will be implemented in Alico Arena to ensure fan safety. These measures will include physical social distancing in fan seating along with mandatory mask/facial coverings. This limited capacity will mean that ticket package holders and students will likely be the only spectators inside Alico Arena this season.
With this update, the FGCU Ticket Office has extended the renewal period for season ticket holders to Sept. 2. For those who have already supported the Eagles by renewing their ticket packages, the Ticket Office will be in contact with account holders on seating options once the final capacity and schedule is determined.
For those who have been season ticket holders, we thank you for your loyal support especially at this critical time! This year, more than any time in our history,
every contribution like yours helps maintain scholarships as well as fulfill our mission to develop leadership and citizenship though sports and competition.
We are diligently working to prepare for the upcoming season following guidance from the University, the State University System of Florida, and public health officials,
with the top priority being the safety of our student-athletes and fans.
This has never happened before and we want to make sure you, our loyal ticket package holders, are given timely information regarding your season tickets.
We know some of our ticket holders may not be able to attend games this year. If that is the case, we want you to know that you have options to retain your seats if you choose to opt out of the 2020-21 season for any reason.
Four options are available to you for the upcoming season. We are not asking for your decision today. You will be able to submit your choice to the ticket office via a confirmation form we will send to you next week.
1.
Keep Your Current Order As Is
Since you have already renewed for the 2020-21 season, there is nothing you need to do at this time. Once a final capacity and schedule is determined, the ticket office will be in contact with you on next steps regarding available seating options.
2.
Make a Tax-Deductible Donation
You can choose to opt out of the 2020-21 season by donating your ticket costs and Eagles Club contributions to the FGCU Eagle Athletic Fund. These funds will help support FGCU Athletics during the financial challenges resulting from the spread of COVID-19. Choosing this tax-deductible option would also secure the opportunity to retain your seat location priority, and years of consecutive purchase without penalty in 2021-22. We will provide full details on this offer to you next week.
3
. Rollover Your Renewal to 2021-22
If you need to opt-out of your 2020-21 tickets you can simply apply your existing Eagles Club and ticket payments and any upcoming scheduled payment plan payments to your 2021-22 in order to retain your seat location priority, and years of consecutive purchase without penalty and without having to process a new payment.
4.
Request a Full Refund
Full refunds for ticket price and Eagles Club contributions can be requested from the ticket office via the form that will be sent next week. FGCU ticket package holders who request a full refund will be given the option to retain their seat location priority, and years of consecutive purchase without penalty by renewing now for 2021-22 with a 5% deposit and enrollment in a payment plan.
For those who have not had a chance to renew, we ask that you look at this opportunity as a opportunity to invest in our wonderful student-athletes. The information below is how you can renew today and what options are if you choose to forego this year.
