A LOOK AT FGCU
•    The Eagles have won all five of their non-conference weekend series so far this season.
•    Offensively, FGCU leads the ASUN in on-base percentage (.401), runs (173), RBIs (148) and slugging percentage (.427).
•    Of the team's 231 hits, 65 have been for extra bases.
•    Senior
Jay Hayes' (Altamonte Springs, FL/Lyman HS) team-high 12 doubles rank at the top of the league and eighth nationally. His batting average (.419) and slugging percentage (.733) lead the team.
•    Hayes, freshman
Joe Kinker (Northport, FL/Venice HS) and junior
Alex Brait (Viera, FL/Viera HS) have all cranked out over 30 hits. The trio has combined for 32 of the team's 65 extra-base hits.
•    Kinker's .550 on-base percentage is eighth in the nation and the highest of all other freshmen.
•    Junior
Mason Studstill (Titusville, FL/Rockledge HS/Eastern Florida State) leads the conference with 49 Ks. He averages 12.97 strikeouts per inning and has finished three games with double-digit Ks. Â Â
LAST TIME OUT
•    The Eagles swept in-state rival FIU in a home-and-home midweek series.
•    The teams first faced off at Swanson Stadium on Tuesday. Sophomore
Tyler Shuck (Cape Coral, FL/Canterbury HS) started on the mound and hurled six innings. He allowed one hit, one walk and faced one batter over the minimum. He tied his career high with six Ks as the Eagles cruised to a 3-0 victory.
•    Juniors
Richie Garcia (Davie, FL/West Broward HS) and Brait led the offense with two hits apiece.
•    Junior
Trey Vickery (Port Orange, FL/Spruce Creek HS) pitched one of his strongest games as an Eagle in Wednesday night's 11-6 win over the Panthers. The southpaw pitched a career-high five innings, struck out a career-high six batters and gave up just two hits.
•    Senior
Keith Stevens (Miami, FL/Miami Killian HS/Hillsborough CC) and Kinker finished the night with three RBIs each.
SERIES HISTORY VS. TOWSON
•    Friday's game marks the second-ever meeting between the two teams.
•    The Green and Blue took on the Tigers at Swanson Stadium in 2009 and claimed an 8-4 win.
•    Towson is the second team that the Eagles will take on after only facing once before. Earlier this season, FGCU competed against Siena in a weekend series after only playing the Saints one time in a midweek game.
•    The 2019 FGCU schedule has two new opponents for the Eagles. The Green and Blue already swept LIU Brooklyn in the first meeting between the schools earlier this season and will take on ASUN newcomer Liberty in its last regular-season series.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
•    The Tigers enter this weekend with a 1-14 record on the road. The lone victory was a 5-2 win at Kennesaw State, the Eagles' ASUN foe, last month.
•    The most runs that the Tigers have scored in a game so far is eight. The team has achieved this mark twice, once in a win over Fordham and once in a loss at George Washington.
•    Towson will enter the weekend looking to snap its seven-game losing streak.
•    Freshman Javon Fields has reached base in 13 straight games and leads the Tigers in batting average (.321), hits (25), doubles (5), triples (3) and stolen bases (6).
•    Friday starter Josh Seils was recently named CAA Pitcher of the Week after he threw eight scoreless innings and struck out six against Fordham. The senior has pitched a team-high 29.2 innings and owns a 3.34 ERA.
2019 SCHEDULE
•    The Eagles began their 55-game campaign with a bang and opened the year playing each of their first 11 games in the friendly confines of Swanson Stadium.
•   The Green and Blue will play a total of nine times against programs from Power 5 universities (ACC, Big 10, Big 12, Pac-12, SEC).
•    FGCU is billed to play 36 home games and 19 contests on the road. Additional notable non-conference home games include dates with Rutgers (March 15-17), FAU (March 19), FIU (March 26) and Miami (April 10).
•   The first ASUN matchup was a series at UNF March 22-24, which the Eagles dropped 2-1.
•    FGCU will compete 16 times against programs who have played in the NCAA Championship tournament at least once over the last two years. The mark includes a Florida squad that won the national championship two years ago and advanced to the 2018 College World Series. FGCU will also grace a Stetson program (May 3-5) that hosted an NCAA Regional last year and advanced to a Super Regional.
•    The 2019 ASUN Conference Championship will be held May 22-25 in Deland, Florida, and will be hosted by Stetson.

Â
5X CHAMPS
The 2017 season was a magical one for the Green and Blue that ended in the program's first Division I NCAA Championship tournament berth. The Eagles ended the year 43-20, which included a midweek sweep over No. 2 Florida, single wins over No. 1 Florida State, Miami, and a three-game sweep at UNC Wilmington. The wins over Miami, FSU, and UF marked the first time FGCU defeated all three programs in the same season.
Â
Reaching as high as No. 9 in the polls, the highest of any program at FGCU, the Eagles struggled in April but bounced back to finish third in the ASUN. During the ASUN Championship, FGCU won four games in a span of 29 hours for their first tournament crown.
Â
The Green and Blue earned the No. 2 seed in the Chapel Hill Regional, defeating Michigan 10-6 before losses to Davidson and North Carolina ended their season. The tournament title added to FGCU's four regular season crowns.
