FORT MYERS, Fla. - FGCU picked up its first win of the season with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-16) win over Elon in their final match of the NCCU Tournament.

“We were a much different team today,” said Head Coach Dave Nichols. “We played with much more confidence today. Cheyenne Jenks had a great match and Holly Youngquist had a great opening weekend for us.”

The Eagles easily defeated the Phoenix who advanced to the championship match of the tournament.

The Eagles will be back in action again next Thursday when they travel to face New Mexico State.
