EDINBURG, Texas - Delia De La Torre and Adrianne McNally both recorded double-doubles as the FGCU women's basketball team defeated Chicago State 58-48 to advance to the championship game of the National Independent Tournament.

With the win, FGCU improves to 20-8 overall, while Chicago State falls to 15-13 overall.

FGCU jumped out to an early 5-4 lead and never looked back, as they took down the Cougars to pick up their fifteenth win in their last 16 games and advance to the championship game of the National Independent Tournament. The Eagles struggled offensively, shooting only 30.9 percent (17-of-55) from the field and 28.6 percent (6-of-21) from behind the 3-point line, but used their agressiveness on the boards to outrebound Chicago State 49-27 and pick up the win.

De La Torre added a career-high 12 rebounds to pick up her third double-double of the season. McNally also set a new career-high rebounding total by snagging 13 rebounds to register her second double-double of the year. Ashley Haegele (Imperial, Mo.) chipped in with 12 points and three rebounds.

Chicago State was led by Jasmin Dixon's 15 points.
