CLINTON, S.C. '" The 10th ranked Florida Gulf Coast University volleyball won their 20th match of the season with a 3-0 (30-19, 30-23, 30-16) sweep of Catawba. Melissa Griffith led Catawba with eight kills and 12 digs in the match. Melissa Powers added seven kills for Catawba. FGCU limited Catawba to 26 kills and a .065 hitting percentage in the match. Heather Van Olst led the Eagles with 15 kills in the match while Brooke Younguist added 14. Ericka Fonseca added 13 kills and four blocks for FGCU. Each of the rio hit over .300 in the match. As a team, FGCU hit .383 as Chandra Ginest propelled the offense with 44 assists. The Eagles will be in action again tomorrow morning at 10:00 am when they face Francis Marion in the Presbyterian Blue Hose Tournament. The Eagles face host Presbyterian at 5:00 pm in their final game of the Blue Hose Tournament.
