Candy Myers scored a career-high 27 points to lead Florida Gulf Coast University to a 97-60 rout of Western New Mexico University in women'â„¢s basketball action at Alico Arena Saturday evening.
Myers (New Batavia, OH), the third-leading three-point shooter in the country, connected on 10-of-18 from the floor, including 7-of-14 from beyond the arc to lead four players in double figures for the Eagles. Myers, who has hit a three-pointer in 33 consecutive games, tied the school record with seven three-pointers for the third time this season. Trish Fleming ('â„¢03) is the only other Eagles player to make seven in a game.
FGCU senior forward
Andrea Clarke (Guelph, Ontario) added 21 points and 10 rebounds for her second straight double-double and fourth of the season. Clarke is now 20 points short of breaking the school'â„¢s all-time scoring record of 675 points

Alex Kwiecinska (Mississauga, Ontario) also posted a double-double, scoring 13 points and grabbing 10 boards. Junior guard
Megan Jones (Indianapolis, IN) was the other FGCU player in double figures, chipping in 11 points.
FGCU (18-8) controlled the game throughout, leading by 21 at the break 53-45. The 53 points were the second-best scoring half for the Eagles this season. They had 62 against Florida Memorial on January 22. The Eagles shot 44.6 percent from the field, including 12-of-32 from three-point land, while WNMU shot 37.7 percent while committing 22 turnovers.
Western New Mexico (5-20) was led by Natalie Lara with 18 points.
FGCU will host Florida Southern College on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in the home finale at Alico Arena.
