FGCU Women shut down Florida Memorial

MIAMI, FL '" The Florida Gulf Coast University women'™s basketball team picked up its fourth straight victory with a 75-34 win over Florida Memorial on Friday night. Junior guard Megan Jones (Indianapolis, IN) scored a game-high 16 points, hitting 5-of-8 from beyond the three-point arc, for the Eagles (12-5). She also handed out her 300th career assist during the game. Junior guard Candy Myers (New Batavia, OH) extended her streak of consecutive games with a three-pointer to 23 en route to 13 points, while junior forward Andrea Holbrook (Jeffersonville, IN) added 11 points and six rebounds. Junior guard Ebonie Halliburton (East St. Louis, IL) and freshman forward Amber Bishko (Orlando, FL) each grabbed seven rebounds for FGCU. The Eagles held Florida Memorial to just 17 points in each half. Sade Thebeau led Florida Memorial (0-8) with eight points. The Eagles will host Warner Southern at Alico Arena on Tuesday, January 18 at 7 p.m.
