The Florida Gulf Coast University volleyball team scored its fourth consecutive win with a 30-17, 30-19, 30-16 win over Florida Tech before 322 fans at Alico Arena in Fort Myers. The Eagles now improve to 10-1 season.
FGCU used a well-balanced attack as freshman
Brooke Youngquist (Fort Myers) led the team with 12 kills while junior
Devon Watts and freshman
Lauren Stockman-Puder (Fort Myers) added eight kills each to the offensive attack.
Sophomore
Laura Manovill (Dunedin) set her way to 23 assists, while freshman
Whitney Hendry posted 17 digs and junior
Ingrid Felicio added 12 to lead FGCU defensively. FGCU posted 13 team blocks and held the Panthers to a .175 attack percentage.
The Eagles will travel to West Palm Beach for the eight-team Sailfish Classic hosted by Palm Beach Atlantic on September 24-25.
