FORT MYERS, FL - Five players scored in double figures Tuesday night as the Florida Gulf Coast University women'™s basketball team ran past Goldey-Beacom College 95-38 in first-day play at the FGCU Holiday Classic at Alico Arena.
The Eagles, who have now won four straight, improve to 8-3 on the season. Goldey-Beacom, from Wilmington, Delaware, fell to 4-5, snapping a two-game win streak.
FGCU opened the contest by hitting 75.8% of its shots in the first 10 minutes en route to a 51-25 advantage at the break. The Eagles held the Lightning to just 13 points in the second half.

Andrea Clarke (Guelph, Ontario) led the balanced Eagles scoring attack with 16 points, while freshman
Amber Bishko (Orlando, FL) finished with a season-high 15 points. Junior
Candy Myers (New Batavia, OH) contributed 14 points, junior
Jennifer Santana added 13 points and junior
Alex Kwiecinska added a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
Sophomore Toni Jones led the Lightning with a game-high 18 points and nine rebounds.
The win sets up a rematch against Valdosta State on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Alico Arena. The Eagles beat the Blazers 63-51 in Valdosta on December 4. Goldey-Beacom will face Georgian Court at 11 a.m. in the other FGCU Holiday Classic game on Wednesday.
