Andrea Clarke (Guelph, Ont.) scored a game high 21 points to lead Florida Gulf Coast University to a 57-44 win over Eckerd College in the final game of the Hillmyer-Tremont Classic at Alico Arena.

Candy Myers (New Batavia, OH) connected on 5-of-7 from the field, including three bombs from behind the arc, to finish with 17 points and three steals for FGCU. Freshman guard

Ebonie Halliburton (East St. Louis, IL) contributed five rebounds for the Eagles.
Eckerd College picked up their first loss of the season to fall to 3-1. Freshman guard Ryan Trettevik paced the Tritons with 13 points and two steals. Senior guard Qunisha Rush added nine points while sophomore forward Ericka Siauciunas chipped in with eight points and two rebounds.
Despite 13 turnovers in the first half, Eckerd College built a 24-19 halftime edge holding FGCU to 33.3% shooting from the field.
The Eagles second half pressure forced 26 total turnovers, six steals and held the Tritons to 27.1% from the field for the game. Meanwhile, FGCU shot 52.6% in the second half, utilizing full court pressure to hold Eckerd scoreless for nine crucial minutes as they took a 50-38 lead to never look back.
FGCU, 2-1, travels to Florida Tech next weekend for games against Fort Valley State on Friday afternoon and will face the winner of Florida Tech and Puerto Rico Rio Piedras on Saturday.
