FORT MYERS, Fla. - The FGCU women's basketball improved to 22-1 on the season tonight at Alico Arena defeating Warner Southern College 74-44.
Trish Fleming showed why she is the Eagles captain and leading scorer as she scored 26 points (8-14 FG). The Eagles got off to a quick start and never looked back as they complete the sweep of Warner Southern this season defeating them three times. The eagles also improved to 9-0 in Alico Arena this season, and 10-0 against Florida Sun Conference opponents. For the second straight game,
Robyn Swain stepped up for the eagles as she scored 16 points, pulled down 12 rebounds and had 7 blocks in the victory. Swain made it hard for the Runnin' Royals to penetrate the lane for short-range jumpers.
Jennifer Santana had a solid performance tonight, scoring 13 points on 4-9 shooting. The eagles dominated on the boards as they out rebounded Warner Southern 38-22. Melissa Evans who scored 15 points, and pulled down 4 rebounds led warner Southern. Katherine Mack added 8 points. The Eagles will go on the road to face Webber this Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
