Hartley Academic Resource Center

The Hartley Academic Resource Center (HARC) was made possible by the generosity of Mike and Karen Hartley, who donated $1 million in 2016. This gift, part of a Department of Athletics’ $12 million capital campaign, allowed for the construction of this state-of-the-art academic facility.

Opened in 2017, HARC is on the first floor of the Alico Arena addition. The center serves as a hub for supporting the academic success of FGCU student-athletes, offering a range of facilities and services to help them reach their full potential in the classroom and beyond.

HARC Facilities

  • Student-Athlete Learning Center: The heart of the HARC, with dedicated staff offices and individual tutoring spaces.
  • Private Tutoring Rooms: Seven private rooms designed for one-on-one academic support.
  • Group Project Workspaces: Collaborative areas to encourage teamwork and academic collaboration.
  • Computer Stations: Numerous computers available for student-athletes to complete assignments, conduct research and access academic resources.
  • Conference Room: Dedicated space for meetings, academic planning and workshops.

The HARC provides an optimal environment for student-athletes to excel academically while balancing the demands of their athletic careers. This facility plays a crucial role in FGCU’s commitment to the success and development of its student-athletes.
