Gustavo Vasconcelos

From Recife, Brazil, Gustavo Vasconcelos joined the FGCU coaching staff as Assistant/Goalkeeper Coach and Director of Operations beginning with the 2022 season.
 
Former captain of the men’s soccer team, Vasconcelos was a three-time ASUN Conference Goalkeeper of the Year (2018, 2020, 2021) and a three-time All-ASUN First Team selection. He is the only keeper in program history to earn the league's top honor three times throughout a career.
 
Vasconcelos was also part of the 2016 ASUN Tournament title, Second Round of NCAA Tournament run, and the 2018 ASUN regular season title. Additionally, he was a part of the MLS Draft List in 2020.
 
He earned his bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary entrepreneurship studies and is working towards his master’s degree in educational leadership. With his entrepreneurship degree, Vasconcelos founded an International Educational Agency for International Students.
 
Prior to FGCU, Vasconcelos trained with the MLS Orlando City first team and played for Sport Clube do Recife Academy his local club in Brazil.
