Brittany Brown (Rochester, N.Y./Greece-Athena High School) produced back-to-back shutouts to start the season as the Eagles tied Ole Miss, 0-0, on Friday evening and defeated Dayton, 2-0, on Sunday afternoon. Brown made three saves against Ole Miss. The Rebels had back-to-back shots that challenged Brown near the 16-minute mark, but the veteran keeper maintained the scoreless tie for FGCU as the first half reached its midpoint. The Rebels' best chance to take the lead came in the 65th minute when Brown grabbed a save on a close-range shot from the right side. The visiting team produced a shot on goal in the 103rd minute that forced Brown off her line and added off-target shots in the 104th and 105th minutes. During Sunday’s game vs. Dayton, the senior stopped four shots on the day as FGCU started the season with back-to-back shutouts for the first time in program.
