The FGCU men’s tennis team improved its record to 4-2 in the 2016 season by beating Marquette 5-2 Sunday afternoon. The windy conditions did not stop the Green & Blue from earning another victory for the tennis program. Lucas Vaz and Ricky Ventura picked up the first doubles win of the day for the Eagles, but Marquette claimed the overall doubles point. 
Ventura, from Barcelona, Spain, earned a dominant 6-1 first set and won five straight games to win the match in straight sets by 6-1 and 7-5. The Eagles extend their winning streak to three straight at the FGCU Tennis Complex and look to make it four in a row at home over Tennessee Tech this Friday.
