Fran Vergara  is entering her first season as a graduate assistant coach of Florida Gulf Coast University women’s tennis team. She helped coached the Eagles to a 12-9 record last season and a 6-3 mark in conference. Vergara began her coaching career immediately after playing for the Eagles.

In her only season for FGCU, she won nine singles matches mainly on court 5 with six conference wins as well as nine doubles victories. Before joining the Eagles she competed at UT Arlington and finished with a 21-8 overall singles record.

She played on courts five (3-0) and six (15-2) and delivered an  8-1 record in Western Atlantic Conference matches, which was second on the team in singles wins. She  finished with a 14-10 overall doubles record.
