Courtney Cobb is in her first season as an assistant women’s golf coach at FGCU after being hired in August 2018.
The Jacksonville native is coming off a successful collegiate career at North Florida, where she was a two-time Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar.
As a senior, Cobb participated in all 10 events in 2017-18 with a 76.21 average. She led the team in counting scores (27 of 29, 93.1 percent) and was named UNF’s most improved female athlete.
As a junior, Cobb posted a season-low 72 in the Amelia Island College, which was also her career-low until she carded a 69 at the Pinehurst Challenge as a senior.
In 2015-16, Cobb was awarded a medical redshirt after suffering an injury in the fall season. Prior to that, she played two seasons at Daytona State College, where she was a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) national championship team as a freshman. She finished 12th individually at nationals.
Prior to her collegiate career, Cobb prepped at Providence School, where she helped lead the Stallions to three district championships, a regional championship and a pair of regional runner-up finishes. She is the only player in program history to qualify for regionals every year of her prep career.
Cobb earned an undergraduate degree in sport management from North Florida in the spring of 2017 and is currently working on a master’s in education leadership.
