Alex Witter began working with FGCU Athletics in July of 2017 as an athletic trainer for the men's soccer and women's tennis teams. In his role, Witter is in charge of the medical coverage for both programs. He designs and implements rehabilitation programs for injured student-athletes, and works in conjunction with physicians for the best medical practice on return-to-play protocols.

Before coming to FGCU, Witter was an athletic trainer at IMG Academy with the tennis program - which had over 220 student-athletes. Witter oversaw rehabilitation and treatment programs for injured student-athletes and referred them to doctors when needed. His administrative duties included inventory management and to place and manage work orders as well as cover other home events.

Witter obtained his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from USF in 2016. In addition to working with high school and collegiate teams, Witter has worked with the Tampa Bay Rowdies (USL), Tampa Bay Storm (AFL), and DC United (MLS).

Aside from his certification in athletic training, Witter holds a license in Florida to practice athletic training, and certifications in CPR, Certified Phlebotomy Technician, Functional Movement Screen- Level 1, Hawkgrips Level 1 and Level 2 (IASTM).
