What does my gift to the Eagles Club support?
Your gift with the Eagles Club is an investment in driven and dedicated student-athletes. Donations are used to provide scholarship support to our 15 varsity teams. Gifts are also used to ensure that FGCU Athletics and our student-athletes have the necessary resources for success in the classroom, in competition, and in the community. Eagles Club members play a role in funding academic support services, athletic training, strength & conditioning, and nutrition programs, recruiting, and facility enhancements. Â
When is my gift to the Eagles Club due?
Eagles Club renewals start in May annually. The deadline for Eagles Club members who have basketball season tickets is June 30. Eagles Club members who do not have season tickets are able to give through October 31.
Does sport-specific giving count towards Eagles Club? Â
No, gifts made specifically to any of our programs do not count towards Eagles Club membership.
Is my gift to the Eagles Club tax deductible?
Under the latest tax legislation, if you make a contribution for the benefit of the University and then receive (directly or indirectly) benefits, including the right to purchase tickets for seating at an athletics event – these gifts are not tax deductible. A deduction may be available for contributions from donor advised funds, private foundations, and IRA charitable rollover distributions, provided you waive membership benefits and/or priority points. Please consult your tax advisor for more information.
Does my gift include priority points?
As an Eagles Club member, you receive Priority Points to recognize and appreciate your generosity and cumulative support. With point accumulation, Eagles Club members will have priority to purchase additional season tickets, make season ticket upgrades, and/or make applicable seat location changes. An additional Priority Points benefit is access to post-season tickets (including location and allotment).
