FORT MYERS, Fla. – FGCU announced that its weekend baseball series against Queens will now consist of a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. Friday, followed by a single game on Saturday. The move is made in anticipation of inclement weather heading towards Southwest Florida this weekend.
While Saturday's game time is still set for 5 p.m., fans should stay alert to any potential further changes as weather forecasts are updated.
If the schedule change affects your ability to attend the games this weekend, please contact the FGCU Ticket Office at (239) 590-7145 or email
tickets@fgcu.edu to exchange your tickets for a future game.
This weekend's series, set for Swanson Stadium, marks the Atlantic Sun Conference opener for both programs. FGCU enters the contest with a 13-4 record and a 10-2 mark at Swanson Stadium so far this season. Queens heads to Fort Myers with a 4-13 mark, including a 1-5 tally on the road. The Royals will take the field Friday hoping to end a nine-game skid.
FGCU will open the series Friday at 1 p.m. in hopes of winning its ASUN opener for the fourth time in the past five years. Queens has won two of its three ASUN openers since joining the league.
