FORT MYERS, Fla. – Now sitting at 3-2-1, the Eagles look to carry momentum into their next match on Sunday night, hosting Houston Christian at Pickering Field with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
The FGCU men's soccer team kicked off its home slate in dominant fashion, rolling past Florida Memorial with a 4-0 shutout Tuesday night at Pickering Field. Four different Eagles found the back of the net, while five players tallied either a goal or an assist in the balanced attack. FGCU racked up 26 total shots—tied for the third-most in program history—and set a new program record with 18 shots on goal.
Caio Oliveira opened the scoring in the 31st minute, followed by goals from Pedro Arcoverde, Edson Murguia, and Job Choute to seal the Eagles' first clean sheet of the season behind goalkeeper Oliver Weng's five saves.
For the first time in program history, FGCU is offering fall season tickets for its soccer programs, with packages starting at $60. Fans who purchase season tickets for either the men's or women's soccer teams will receive a season ticket combo for both programs.
