FORT MYERS, Fla. – Two-time CSCAA National Invitational Champion and three-time ASUN Champion
Izzy Ackley will compete at the Toyota National Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana. She will compete in the backstroke in the 50, 100 and 200 meter distances.
The event will be the first for Ackley in the long course meter season. The summer stretch for swimming is a distinct departure from the college swimming season which is swam in short course yards. When swimming during the NCAA season the pool is 25 yards long allowing underwaters to play a bigger role in times. During long course meter season, swimmers compete in a 50 meter long pool where they will be on the surface for much longer.
Ackley's posted a personal best in the 50 back long course at the Speedo Sectionals in Columbia in March of 2024 where she posted a time of 28.84 which would have been the 18th fastest time in 2024.
The fabulous freshman will also be swimming at the TYR Summer Championships in August with teammate
Libby Russum.
