@FGCU_Baseball set to take on USF at Hammond Stadium

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The FGCU baseball team is slated to face off against USF at Hammond Stadium, home of the Fort Myers Miracle, in a fall baseball game on Saturday, Nov. 2. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. in the second-annual fall clash between the programs.

Admission to the game will be free and parking will be available for $5. Half of the proceeds generated from the parking fees will be donated back to FGCU. The gates at Hammond Stadium will open at 6 p.m. and concessions will be running a $1 hot dog deal.

The Fort Myers Miracle is a Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, a club which the Eagles have quite a few ties to. Over the years, the Twins have picked up five different Eagles: Chris Brown (2004), Stephen Wickens (2011), Brandon Bixler (2013), Zach Tillery (2014) and Brady Anderson (2016).

In addition to the date with USF, the fall baseball season will be highlighted by FGCU's annual Green & Blue World Series. The intersquad competition is set to kick off on Thursday, Nov. 14 at Swanson Stadium and will run through Saturday, Nov. 16.

Last season, head coach Dave Tollett's squad captured the 2019 ASUN Regular Season Championship and posted a 34-21 record, including a 16-7 mark in conference play.

This year, Tollett, who was named ASUN Coach of the Year for the fifth time in his career, returns four players that earned postseason all-conference honors a season ago. Senior Mason Studstill earned a First Team All-Conference selection, while classmates Hunter McGarry and Alex Brait landed on the second team. Sophomore Joe Kinker rounded out the selections with a spot on the All-Freshmen team.
