This past weekend Andres Alfonzo totaled five wins at the Bedford Cup in his debut as an Eagle. The TCU transfer came out on top three times on the singles court, finding wins over Jake Albo of FSU (2-6, 6-3, 6-1), Loic Blanco of Stetson (7-5, 6-3) and Everth Dzib of USF (3-6, 7-5, 7-5). Alfonzo teamed up with senior Tianyu Bao to reach the quarterfinals of the doubles main draw, defeating Smalls and Okungbowa of FAMU and the tournament’s third-seeded pair Barrus and Espindola of UCF, both with a score of 7-6, 7-6.
