MACON, Ga. – The Atlantic Sun Conference announced this week the expansion of fall championship coverage to include the final of the 2013 Women’s Soccer Championship on ESPN3, ESPN’s live multi-screen sports network accessible online at WatchESPN.com, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app, and streamed on televisions through ESPN on Xbox LIVE to Gold members and on Apple TV.
The Women’s Soccer Championship begins on Saturday, Nov. 2 with quarterfinal matches and continues at the FGCU Soccer Complex on Friday, Nov. 8 at 4 p.m. with the first semifinal matchup. The second match that night will feature top-seeded FGCU at 7 p.m. The tournament will culminate with the final on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 1:00 p.m. and will be featured live on ESPN3.
The Men’s Soccer Championship as well as all three rounds of the A-Sun Volleyball Championship will be featured on ESPN3 as well.
“I am excited that this year the A-Sun has the opportunity to include the men’s and women’s soccer championship finals, along with all three rounds of the volleyball championship, to our schedule of events delivered through ESPN3,” said A-Sun Commissioner Ted Gumbart. “We thank ESPN, as this cooperative effort of campus-produced digital content allows us to further spotlight our talented student-athletes, their teams and the A-Sun institutions.”
The broadcasting crew of Neil Solondz (play-by-play) and Richard Broad (analyst) will handle duties for the women’s and men’s soccer finals.
The Atlantic Sun and ESPN have a long-standing relationship that first began with the airing of the Conference’s basketball tournament title game back in 1989. For the fifth season, all of the conference’s CSS/A-Sun Friday Night Game of the Week men’s basketball contests will be available on the ESPN Full Court package on ESPN3.
