FGCU Women's Soccer to Host Summer Camps
Jim Blankenship, head women's soccer coach at Florida Gulf Coast University, and his staff have announced the dates and opened registration for their 2008 Summer Camps. Blankenship and the FGCU staff will hold a Day Camp at the FGCU Soccer Complex (June 9-13 & July 28-Aug. 1), as well as an Elite Camp (June 15-19).

Haw Named A-Sun Freshman of the Year
The Atlantic Sun Freshman of the Year award went to Florida Gulf Coast forward Lindsay Haw. Haw and defender Kathleen Hunter made the All-Freshman team from the first-year Division I program. Hunter also made the Second-Team All-Atlantic Sun team and sophomore midfielder Amber McCall earned First-Team accolades.

Kirsi Keenan was named the A-Sun defensive player of the week after her performance this past weekend. Keenan recorded a shutout against Belmont and was five minutes away from another against Lipscomb before being pulled late in the match as the Eagles won for the fifth time in their last six games.

The Florida Gulf Coast University womens soccer team used four goals to post a 4-0 win over A-Sun rival Lipscomb on Sunday afternoon at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex. This marked the third consecutive shutout and the eighth shutout of the season for the Eagles.

The FGCU womens soccer team (9-5, 5-2 A-Sun) started the weekend off right with a 1-0 victory on Friday night in Tennessee. The Eagles recorded their seventh shutout with a 1-0 victory over Belmont (10-4-1, 4-3 A-Sun). With the win FGCU improved to 9-5 on the season, marking the 250th career victory for Head Coach Jim Blakenship.

The FGCU women's soccer team looks to overtake Belmont in the A-Sun conference as they travel for two A-Sun Conference match ups this weekend. FGCU (8-5, 4-2 A-Sun) will travel to Belmont (10-3-1, 4-2 A-Sun) on Friday, Oct. 19, at 7:30 p.m. The Eagles will then square off against Lipscomb (3-10-1, 1-4-1 A-Sun) on Sunday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m.
