LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The FGCU women’s cross country team finishes 26th in the 11th Annual Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic at E.P. ‘Tom Sawyer’ State Park, Saturday morning.

The Green and Blue was the second highest Atlantic Sun Conference team to finish behind Lipscomb, who finished in 17th place. West Virginia took home first place with a score of 41, followed by Penn State (134), Grand Valley State (190), Ferris State (221), Eastern Illinois (226), Southern Indiana (257), Western Kentucky (267), Vanderbilt (295), Bellarmine (323) and Seton Hill (366) rounded out the top 10 schools. The Eagles beat out A-Sun opponent, Northern Kentucky who finished 32nd.

“The women's effort was there. We had some good performances” said head coach Cassandra Goodson. “Now we just have to make sure we are doing all the little things that add up to the big picture, icing stretching, all of it.”

Junior Kelly Perzanowski (St. Clairsville, Ohio/St. Clairsville HS) was the first FGCU competitor to finish when she came in 52nd place with a time of 18:52.15. Senior Barrie Cohen (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Regional HS) was the second FGCU student-athlete to finish, with a time of 18:58.44, which was good for 63rd place.
