FORT MYERS, Fla. - The FGCU women’s basketball team received 20 votes to rank tied for the No. 29 spot, with Middle Tennessee, in this week's USA Today/ESPN Top 25 Coaches’ Poll that was released on Tuesday, Feb. 14.

This marks 15th time in program history and the sixth straight week that the Eagles have earned votes in the national poll. FGCU, who leads the nation in three-pointers made per game (10.9), held on to its No. 29 spot and picked up four more votes than they received last week.

In their last outing (Feb. 11), the Green and Blue defeated Atlantic Sun foe Belmont, 54-34, on Saturday night in front of 3,352 fans at Alico Arena. The win gave the Eagles at least a share of the A-Sun Regular Season title, which is the third in program history.

The Green and Blue (23-2, 15-0 A-Sun), who own the nation’s third longest winning streak (15) behind Baylor (25) and Stanford (19), will return home to host second place Stetson (21-6, 12-3 A-Sun) on Saturday, Feb. 18. Tip-off is set for 7:05 p.m. and is FGCU’s ‘Senior Day’. FGCU defeated Stetson, 59-55, on Jan. 21 in DeLand in the first meeting.

The Eagles, who have assured themselves of at least a top-2 seed in the 2012 A-Sun Tournament, will play their quarterfinal game on Wednesday, Feb. 29. Tip-off times are still to be determined. FGCU Athletics is now offering ticket packages for the conference tournament at Mercer in Macon, Ga.
