Jackson Named College Sports Madness' Nat'l Mid-Major & A-Sun Player of the Week

FORT MYERS, Fla. - College Sports Madness has named senior guard Nicoya Jackson (Houston, Texas/Cypress Springs HS/Southwestern Christian) the National Mid-Major Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the website announced on Monday. In addition, Jackson was selected by the website as the Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week after leading FGCU to a huge non-conference win over ACC foe Virginia Tech.

Jackson drained 5-of-13 shots from the field, including 3-of-10 from long range, to help lead the Eagles (8-1) to a 69-41 blowout win over ACC foe Virginia Tech on Wednesday, Dec. 21.

The Houston, Texas native poured in 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals in 25 minutes of action against the Hokies.
