FORT MYERS, Fla. - After leading the Eagles to a huge 88-60 win over A-Sun foe ETSU last week, senior Kelsey Jacobson (Barnesville, Minn./Moorhead HS) earned College Sports Madness’ Atlantic Sun Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the website announced on Monday.
Jacobson drained eight three-pointers, tying the FGCU all-time single game record, to lead the Eagles (5-1, 1-0 A-Sun) to the blowout win over ETSU in the 2011-12 Atlantic Sun opener on Saturday night at Alico Arena.
The Barnesville, Minn. native, finished with a game-high 24 points, three assists and three rebounds in 32 minutes. She shot 8-of-12 from long range, to place her tied for first place in the FGCU record books for three-pointers made in a single game with former Eagles Candy Myers and Jen Conely.
